FairCarboN at the SAMS Annual Days

The 2026 Annual Days of the PEPR SAMS (for Food Systems, Microbiomes and Health) were held on 31 March and 1 April 2026 in Paris.

FairCarboN x JA SAMS Hervé Guyomard

During a round‑table bringing together several PEPR programmes working on topics that overlap—at least in part—with those of PEPR SAMS, Hervé Guyomard presented the FairCarboN programme.

Unsurprisingly, the strongest connections between FairCarboN and SAMS have emerged around the theme of healthy and sustainable food systems, particularly those aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Collaboration is already underway through the two projects PREFALIM (FairCarboN) and DYNAPOL‑3E (SAMS), for example through the joint hosting of postdoctoral researcher Alexandra Hondermarck from October 2025 to April 2027, working on the dynamics of taste and food practices in the context of growing environmental concerns.

The discussions also highlighted additional avenues for cooperation: beyond potential incoming and outgoing mobility schemes that could be jointly supported by both programmes, participants mentioned the possibility of joint responses to national or international calls for proposals on the transition of food systems, as well as the involvement of PEPR SAMS in the development of

the FairCarboN Carbon‑Economy Days, organised by the programme, and—within the framework of the “Prof VerC” video series of FairCarboN—the possibility of producing joint videos on the characterisation of healthy and sustainable food systems and on the public policies capable of supporting their development.
